Review from a DVD fan "An Old Soul"
"Let me start by saying that I am a Bollywood dance instructor as well as a full-time Middle Eastern dance teacher. I own hundreds of instructional dance DVD's and have attended trainings all over the world. For a mere $14.99 you can own this DVD which provides at least $150 worth of material.

True to advertising, this is an intermediate level instructional DVD. It is neither a hip hop Bollywood choreography (thank goodness), nor a feel-good, love-your-body fluff session. Pallavi is a classically trained dancer, and she presents a choreography that is based on a song, the meaning in its lyrics, and the dance movements and gestures which derive from classical Indian dance but which, according to latter 20th century Bollywood flexibility, are presented in a fun style. If this material were presented in a workshop form, there would easily be enough material to fill a two day training. The instructions are clear, and the movement and cultural background are provided too. Very classy, indeed.

Beyond the choreographic content, which is almost overly generous by itself, there is a bonus Bhangra section. This section is great for a warm-up for a Bollywood dance class, but it can also stand on its own as a cardio workout. I use the material as a warm-up with my students. Run, don't walk, to get this DVD. Its the best value you'll get all year, and you'll be pleasantly challenged by the quantity and quality of instruction you receive. Beautiful work, Pallavi. I wish everyone took their art and their product this seriously."
